SEVEN NATIONAL PRIDE OF NEPAL


1. National Flag

Every country has its own national flag. The national flag represents the nation. Our national flag is unique in the world. It has two triangles joining together. The surface is crimson and the border is blue in color. The upper triangles have the symbol of the moon and the lower triangles have the symbol of the sun. The meaning of the sun and moon remain in the universe. Our national flag reflects our history, culture and religion. The red color represents Nepalese courage and blue color is meant for peace loving nature of Nepalese.

2. National song

Every country has it own national song. The national song makes the citizens feel proud and responsible toward their country. It also gives the feeling of self-respect and identity of the country. The national song is sung at the beginning of the celebration of national Days, National festival, any formal programs of honor, games and sports, etc. When the national song is sung, we have to stand up from our seat in a disciplined way to pay respect to the nation. Our national song was composed by Pradip Kumar Rai (Byakul Maila) and music was composed by Amber Gurung.

3. Coat of Arms (Nisan Chhap)

The coat of arm is one of the things which gives identity to our country. It is used in the government office. It legalizes government documents. It is symbol of the government of Nepal. The new coat of arms was introduced in Nepal on 30th Dec 2006. It is made to represent all the special features of Nepal such as the national flag, the national flower, the highest mountain of the world Sagarmatha, and three ecological region of Nepal: mountain, hill and terai. Similarly, to represents the gender equality there is the picture of a male and female shaking  hands. There is a sheaf of paddy to represents Nepal as an agriculture country. “JANANI JANMABHOOMISCHA SWARGADAPI GARYASI” is also written which means mother and mother land are greater than the heaven. It was jointly designed by Nabindra Man Rajbhandari, Himalaya Gautam and Krishna Shrestha.

4. Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha)

Mt. Sagarmatha is the highest peak in the world. Its height is 8848 meters from the sea level. It makes Nepal renown in the world. It is the pride of our country. It listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 AD.

5. Lumbini (Birth place of Buddha)

Lumbini is the birth place of Gautam Buddha. It is located in the western part of Nepal. It is recognized as a pilgrimage of all the people of the world who fallow Buddhism. Gautam Buddha is also called the “Light of Asia”. It is also listed in UNESCO world Heritage Site in 1997 AD. It is the pride of our country.

6. Danfe (Lophophorus)

Danfe is our national Bird. It is found in the Himalayan region of Nepal. It is very colorful bird. It has nine colors. So it is also called the naurangi Bird. This is also identity to our country. So it is the pride of our country.

7. Laligunras (Rhododendron)

Laligunras is our national flower. It is normally red color but we can find in different color. It is also found in the high hill and Himalaya region of Nepal. This is also identity to our country. So it is the pride of our country. If you trek in spring season, it will be mind blowing, blooming rhododendron, everywhere in the trekking trail.
